Supplements for Gut Health

Dr. Cas' Cabinet

With the countless types of vitamins and supplements on the shelves today, it is easy to become overwhelmed. It’s important to know what you are putting in your body, it’s important to know that the ingredients are high quality, and it’s important to know you’re giving your body what it needs. But where do you start?

To ensure I recommend the most effective, highest quality brands to my patients, I spend extensive time researching the multitude of vitamins and supplements on the market today. In this post, I share some of my favorites specifically for gut health.

Biocharged

Doc’s Thoughts: I love the supplement! I first heard of charged ozonated oil on a Ben Greenfield podcast. I was intrigued about the history and science behind ozone therapy and Tesla. I have known for years about the benefits of ozone therapy through IVs and ozone pods. Since I’ve been taking this supplement, I have noticed a major difference in my G.I. system. I have had less bloating and better bowel movements. I’ve been less foggy brained and have had better focus. I have also noticed small things like toenail fungus improving. This may not be an actual benefit from encapsulated ozone, but it is something that I have noticed since starting the supplement over the last year. I highly recommend this supplement as part of the daily routine.

CT-Spore

Doc’s Thoughts: CT-Spore is a soil-based probiotic that I was recently introduced to when completing the Foundational Protocol from CellCore, a four-step, four-month process to optimize participants’ health. I have tried many probiotics in the past, with mixed success. A lot of times, probiotics would make me constipated or bloated. With CT-Spore, I noticed something different – and no negative side effects. The technology in CT-Spore allows for the probiotic to bypass the acidity of the stomach and be used properly. It is very important to have a thriving gut microbiome because this is how we break down food and how the outside world communicates to us. Essentially, we are the bacteria in our gut and the bacteria control our “second brain” (aka the gut). By taking a good probiotic, you can effectively modulate your mood, sleep, hormones, autonomic nervous function and disease process. I highly recommend this supplement in your daily routine.

TUDCA

Doc’s Thoughts: TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) is a water-soluble bile acid and liver helper. I was turned on to the supplement and really started learning more about its ingredients while doing the Foundational Protocol from CellCore. I noticed during the first month of taking this supplement that my food sensitivities had decreased. This supplement really works on the detox pathways of your liver by opening up your bile ducts. This is such an important part of detoxing. We are all around so many types of toxins, including mold, metals and environmental chemicals. If your liver is not properly functioning and is secreting bile into the gut, then you can potentially hold on to harmful substances. I highly recommend this supplement in everyone’s daily routine.

Para 1

Doc’s Thoughts: Para 1 is a digestive support product and I can’t get enough of this supplement. I first started taking it when I was on the Foundational Protocol from CellCore. I instantly noticed that my bowel movements had improved and became more regular. I felt that my whole intestines had cleared out and I had less bloating. The main ingredient in Para 1 is mimosa pudica seed, which becomes jellylike and sticky as it scrubs the gut and grabs unwanted elements in the digestive tract. You may see some funky stuff in your stool when you take this supplement, but you will feel amazing. By cleaning out any unwanted material in the G.I. system, this allows good bacteria to thrive and do what it is meant to do. If you want to feel so fresh and so clean, I highly recommend this supplement in your daily routine.
