Functional Medicine +
Primary Care
Functional medicine is the practice of getting to the “root cause” of disease, which goes far beyond chasing and treating symptoms. Our discovery involves an in-depth exploration of your health history, gaining an understanding of your current diet, lifestyle and environment, and gathering insights through appropriate lab testing.
In functional medicine, there are no “cookie cutter” treatment plans. We believe each individual has a unique pathway to optimal living. Based on the findings from our discovery phase, we’ll work together to design an individualized treatment plan that addresses your unique health goals and needs.
Our goal is to help you attain and maintain whole body wellness, enhancing each of the 5 Pillars of Health & Wellness©: Medical, Physical, Mental, Aesthetic and Spiritual Wellness.
Lab Testing
Our bodies are incredibly complex machines, and there is so much going on beyond what we can see on the surface. We utilize a full range of the latest, state-of-the-art lab testing that provides us with a detailed picture of what is going on with your body at a cellular level.
Lab testing gives us valuable insights on a range of important factors, including vitamin and mineral deficiencies, cardiovascular health, inflammation levels, metabolism, immune system strength, possible infections, adrenal health, hormone levels, diabetes risk, prostate health, thyroid function, liver health, environmental toxins, genetic mutations, cellular function and gut health.
At our clinic, we offer convenient, cost-effective, in-office lab testing, with results in 10 to 14 days.
Gut Testing
Functional medicine practitioners believe that gut health is the foundation of overall health and wellbeing. The gut is a complex system that includes the digestive tract, microbiome and immune system. It plays a critical role in digestion, absorption of nutrients, elimination of waste, and even immune defense. It also communicates with the brain, influencing mood, behavior and cognitive function.
Gut health is influenced by a variety of factors, including diet, lifestyle, stress, medications and environmental exposures. These factors can disrupt the balance of the gut microbiome, which is essential for maintaining a healthy gut and overall health.
We use blood and/or stool tests to assesses bacteria, yeast, viruses and parasites in the gut microbiome, alongside relevant digestive and inflammatory markers, as well as identify any food intolerances that may be affecting your gut health.
Environmental Toxin Testing
In today’s modern world, we are continually around chemicals and pollutants – no matter how clean we try to live. These toxins have detrimental effects on the entire body, including the respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine, reproductive and immune systems, as well as the liver and kidneys.
We utilize a simple urine test to measure the levels of the most common heavy metals, mycotoxins and environmental toxins that may be compromising your body’s function and vitality. We also offer all-natural detoxification protocols to pull toxins from the body and help balance the harmful effects of the everyday toxins that surround us.
While everyone can benefit from toxin testing and detox protocols, it is especially recommended for those with chronic signs of inflammation and/or a history of exposure.
Micronutrient Testing
Micronutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and amino acids, are essential for healthy development, preventing disease and overall wellbeing. Most micronutrients are not produced in the body, and must come from either food or supplements. Ensuring your body is receiving the micronutrients it needs is important, as deficiencies can have many negative consequences on the way you feel and how your body functions.
Our micronutrient blood test provides a comprehensive analysis that identifies deficiencies in nutrients both within and outside of the cells. It also assesses how efficiently the body utilizes micronutrients.
Micronutrient testing is a helpful tool to help us understand the root cause of symptoms including ongoing chronic fatigue, neurologic symptoms and musculoskeletal symptoms.
Genetic Testing
We offer several genetic testing options that offer in-depth, personalized insights on your specific body function, fitness and food, helping you understand your risks and find the most effective path to achieve your health goals.
The metabolic test looks at 80 genes associated with methylation, detoxification, oxidative stress, neurotransmitters, brain health, vitamins and more. The food test looks at how you process certain foods, your eating behaviors, intolerance and risks based on your unique genes. The fitness test looks at body strength potential, VO2 max, cardiovascular health, and weight loss strategies.
IV Therapy
IV therapy can be used for a wide variety of medical/physical conditions, including anti-aging, weight management, immune system strength, fatigue, pain/fibromyalgia, exercise recovery, migraine relief, hangovers and enhancement of overall health and cellular functioning.
We offer IV therapy in our calm, relaxing, in-office environment. You can also inquire about our concierge IV treatments in the comfort and privacy of your own home or office.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Based on lab test results and symptoms you are experiencing, we may explore hormone replacement therapy to optimize hormone levels. We prefer to utilize natural – or bioidentical –treatments, such as pellet therapy.
Pellets, which are compounded from soy and yam, are not processed through the liver like most other hormone modalities and are a cleaner form of hormone for your body. Most people will begin to feel results in two to three weeks, and results can last up to three months for women and up to six months for men.
Peptide Therapy
Peptides are proteins (short chains of amino acids, like insulin) that work directly on cellular function and hormone pathways. As we age, we lose the function of many peptides/hormonal pathways in our body. We also end up seeing a decline in cellular function, leading to cellular inflammation. This can lead to faster aging and the development of chronic disease.
Peptides can assist in improving these pathways and cellular function, restoring the function of metabolism at the cellular level so that we age healthier. Different peptide therapies can support different health goals. We commonly utilize peptide therapy to support athletic performance, cognitive function, disease and trauma management, anti-aging and regeneration, weight loss and management, sexual health, and skin rejuvenation.
Peptide therapy can be administered orally or by injection. Injection is typically the most effective therapy option.
