Dr. Cas was born and raised most of his life in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from Minnesota State Moorhead with a dual major in biology and chemistry. During his time in college, Dr. Cas developed a passion for medicine and a desire to heal others. This led him down his next path: attending medical school in St. Maarten, National Alliance.
Dr. Cas’ studies in medical school spurred an even a deeper passion of family medicine, and he was accepted to the University of Maryland. After graduating residency, Dr. Cas began delivering his unique model of health care to patients, blending the best of integrative and functional medicine. He also completed the requirements to become a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner.
Over his years as a family medicine doctor, Dr. Cas has come to believe that the current health care approach is broken. Despite more medicine being prescribed and more money being spent, people continue to get sicker. Dr. Cas is passionate about creating a family medicine clinic where patients are listened to, where root causes are uncovered, and where real healing takes place.

Functional medicine believes that all of the body’s systems are interconnected: When there is an issue in one system, it often affects other body systems. Problems with your physical health – like a poor diet or not getting enough sleep – can cause issues with your medical health, leading to conditions like diabetes, heart disease or cancer. Similarly, mental health conditions can lead to physical and medical problems. Not feeling good about the way you look can affect your mental and physical health. And a lack of purpose, support system and stress management tools can lead to a whole host of health issues.
